The Gorges, hiding its secrets that are only visible for the kayakers and the hikers.

The "Villages de caractère"

Many villages amongst the most beautiful of France are situated close to la Roubine:

Balazuc, Labeaume, Voguë. At La Bastide de Virac you can visit the Château des Roure, dating from the XVth century and hosting a silkworm rearing.

Caves

The Ardèche also hides some of the most beautiful caves of Europe, many of which can be visited.

Amongst them, the  Aven d’Orgnac, the only one wearing the label “Grand Site de France”. This cave proposes a guided visit, as well as its museum of prehistory and even speleological visits.

Close to the Pont D’Arc is the Grotte Chauvet, the oldest painted cave of the world, discovered at the end of 1994 by three speleologists, which will be reconstructed for visitors in 2014. In the meantime in the centre of Vallon Pont d’Arc you are welcome to visit the permanent Exhibition of the Grotte Chauvet.
